The Colossal Foundation has launched an ambitious new program: the Species Reintroduction Fund, the first global fund solely dedicated to returning endangered species to their native habitats. Backed by a $250,000 annual commitment, the fund supports the full spectrum of reintroduction efforts—from scientific planning and genomic analysis to long-term monitoring after release. Its first six projects span the globe, including the Bolson tortoise in New Mexico, the Vietnam pheasant, and the golden skiffia in Mexico. In partnership with organizations like Re:wild and local conservation teams, the initiative prioritizes biodiversity restoration and long-term ecosystem health. By supporting not just iconic animals, but often-overlooked keystone species, the fund signals a significant shift in conservation strategy: from preservation to reactivation. This isn’t just about saving species—it’s about putting life back where it was lost.
