Charlie Gray has had a lifelong love and fascination with elephants. He has dedicated his life to elephant management, welfare and conservation for almost 40 years. Since 1985 Charlie has managed and cares for a large multi-generational herd of Asian elephants that have successfully reproduced to the third generation. He is a founding Board member of the Elephant Managers Association and the International Elephant Foundation. He has served on the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Taxon Advisory Group (TAG) for over 30 years as Vice Chair/Vice Coordinator; he is also a member of the Elephant Endotheliotrophic Herpes Virus (EEHV) Advisory Group. Charlie leverages his extensive expertise in elephant management and care to assist numerous international elephant studies and conservation projects as an advisor, supporter and active participant.
