Sydney Rodman grew up going on nature walks with her father and has been leading outdoor adventure trips across the USA since she was 15. She joined Rice University in the “Covid Class”, thinking she would do field biology. After joining a lab, Sydney became the first undergraduate to research Anchialine cave fauna in the cenotes of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. She worked with world-renowned cave biologists to analyze new species of shrimp and bacteria.
One Summer, Sydney decided to take a conservation scuba job in Upstate New York to remove aquatic weeds from the bottom of a lake. She saw a problem and opportunity to turn organic waste into valuable bioproducts and revitalize conservation funding through her company, Green Revival.
She has had wonderful positions to hone in on ocean conservation, bioplastics, and vertical farming. Sydney is grateful for all of the opportunities, mentorship, and friends she has made working on a universal mission.
