Colossal Biosciences has teamed up with Paramount and Spin Master on a new conservation campaign built around the Paw Patrol pups, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported. It tells children that endangered animals in the real world can’t count on a Paw Patrol to save them, and that the threats they face most often come from disease and from humans. At its center is a call-to-action video made with Godzilla: King of the Monsters writer-director Michael Dougherty and Carter Young, the voice of firedog Marshall, that casts kids as the next generation of protectors and urges them to “become a real-life Paw Patrol for our planet.” The effort arrives alongside Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie, which strands the pups on an island full of dinosaurs.
The campaign also highlights Colossal’s broader efforts as a de-extinction company working to bring back the woolly mammoth. As the article notes, its conservation efforts include the red wolf, the most endangered of all wolf species, with just 14 surviving in the wild. Colossal has also used AI-enabled bioacoustic sensors to decode wolf howls, and is currently partnering with indigenous tribes and others on more than 25 conservation projects that combine AI and biotechnology, including work to help save rhinos and amphibians.
